The Stages of a Website Project
Throughout the website project, collaboration is key to building the perfect site for your business. We will work closely together, from defining your goals and preferences to finalising the design and functionality. By aligning our visions and ensuring open communication, we’ll create a website that truly represents your brand and meets your business needs.
- Book a Meeting: I will schedule a video call or an in-person meeting if local to discuss and understand your requirements, goals, and what you would like to achieve. This meeting will also help gather more information about your business.
- Define Goals and Objectives: Then we will discuss the purpose of the website, target audience, and desired outcomes.
- Competitor Analysis: We will look at competitors’ websites to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
I will discuss your design preferences and any specific functionalities you require. Based on our discussion, I will prepare a proposal for your review. This proposal will outline the project deliverables, costs, and timelines, as well as any inputs needed from you.
Upon your acceptance of the proposal, we will commence the project.

- Create Wireframes: If Advanced package selected, I will then design basic layouts for each page, focusing on content placement and user experience without visual design elements.

If the Advanced package is selected, I will design your website in Figma first, starting with the homepage. This will establish many of the design cues that will be used across the rest of the site. - Initial Design and Revisions: Your project will typically include one initial design and one major revision for each page or template. Our thorough discussions about your preferences beforehand usually make this sufficient. Additional revisions can be accommodated at an extra cost if needed.
- Approval and Development: Once the design in Figma is approved, development will commence. Any design changes after this point will require additional costs.
- Sequential Page Design and Development: After the first page is built and approved, I will proceed to design and develop the subsequent pages, continuing this process for the entire project.
- Development Environment: I can either build your website locally and then transfer it to the hosting platform, or build it directly on the hosting platform.
- Hosting Options: We will discuss hosting options beforehand. I can host your website on my account, or you can use your own hosting service.
- Content Requirement: At this stage, I will need your content (text, images, etc.). If your content is not ready, I can collaborate with a copywriter for an additional cost. Content is crucial, and I cannot begin building your website without it.
- Page Approval Process: Once the first page (landing page) has been built, you will be able to review it, check all functionality, and approve the design. Once approved, I will proceed with the next page, continuing this process for the entire project.
- Functional Testing: I will ensure all features work as intended, and there are no broken links or errors.
- Usability Testing: Verify the website is easy to navigate and user-friendly.
- Compatibility Testing: Test the website on various browsers and devices to ensure it is responsive.
- Performance Testing: Optimise loading times and overall site performance.
You will also have the opportunity to browse around the site yourself and ensure everything matches your expectations. Once approved, I will proceed with the next page, continuing this process for the entire project.
- Pre-Launch Approval: Once testing is complete and you have approved everything, we will be ready to launch your new website. We will agree on a convenient time and day to take your website live.
- Hosting Assistance: If it’s a brand new site, I can help you choose suitable web hosting or offer to host your website on my hosting platform. Alternatively, if you have an existing site, your current hosting may be suitable.
- Post-Launch Testing: Following the launch, I will conduct another round of testing to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
